Con esta entrada queremos introducir algunos puntos clave sobre la ética ambiental y queremos reflexionar sobre la importancia de las interrelaciones en el contexto del fenómeno de la homogenización del planeta. Entendemos la homogenización como un proceso contemporáneo por el cual diversos modos de vida y cosmovisiones se reemplazan sistemáticamente por hábitos y hábitats neoliberales y uniformes a nivel mundial. Por ejemplo, en diferentes ciudades y pueblos de la ecorregión Sub-Antártica de Magallanes (Chile), que representa uno de los pocos sitios prístinos de la Tierra, poco de su rica y diversa flora nativa crece en las calles. En vez de esto, el paisaje de las ciudades contiene especies de árboles y flores de Europa, Norte América y Asia [1].

With this post we want to introduce some key issues about environmental ethics and we want to reflect about the importance of relationships in the context of the ongoing homogenization phenomenon of the planet. We understand homogenization to be a contemporary process by which diverse lifeways and worldviews are systematically replaced by globally uniform, neoliberal habits and habitats. For example, even in the cities and towns of the Sub-Antarctic Magellanic ecoregion (Chile), which represents one of the few remaining wildernesses on Earth, little of the lush and vibrant native flora grows. Instead, the landscaped cities contain tree and flower species from Europe, North America, and Asia [1].
